Spicy Sardine Bread Roll

Tired of having nasi lemak for your breakfast? Or maybe rice for your luch? Or goreng pisang for your tea time? Well, opt for Spicy Sardine Bread Roll. Yes, BREAD - which mean you don't have to make a dough from sratch.

One big can of sardine can give you 12-15 bread roll and you can enjoy it with your family & friends =)

Ingredients:
12-15 pcs white bread - roll it flat or using pasta roller
1 egg yolk, whisked

Filling:
1 big can of Sardine, toss out the tomato sauce
2 clove of garlic, finely chopped
2 shallots, finely chopped
5-10 of bird's chillis a.k.a cili padi, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 tablespoon lime or lemon juice
1 large bay leaf
Salt & black pepper to taste

Method:
  • Preheat oven  at 150 degrees Celcius
  • Saute garlic and shallots in a frying pan then add in finely chopped bird's chillis
  • Add in thyme and bay leaf followed by sardine.
  • Keep on frying and mash up sardines followed by lime/lemon juice.
  • Before the sardine mixture dry off, add salt & black pepper to taste.
  • Put on single piece of flatten bread on flat surface i.e chopping board.
  • Scoop one tablespoon of sardine mixture on the bread and roll it tightly.
  • Lock the bread end with egg yolk and place it downward on baking tray.
  • Before baking, use pastry brush to brush egg yolk on top of the bread.
  • Bake it for 30mins.

Kalau goreng celur telur is much easier but I don't want it to be like makanan pasar malam =)
