One big can of sardine can give you 12-15 bread roll and you can enjoy it with your family & friends =)
Ingredients:
12-15 pcs white bread - roll it flat or using pasta roller
1 egg yolk, whisked
Filling:
1 big can of Sardine, toss out the tomato sauce
2 clove of garlic, finely chopped
2 shallots, finely chopped
5-10 of bird's chillis a.k.a cili padi, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 tablespoon lime or lemon juice
1 large bay leaf
Salt & black pepper to taste
Method:
- Preheat oven at 150 degrees Celcius
- Saute garlic and shallots in a frying pan then add in finely chopped bird's chillis
- Add in thyme and bay leaf followed by sardine.
- Keep on frying and mash up sardines followed by lime/lemon juice.
- Before the sardine mixture dry off, add salt & black pepper to taste.
- Put on single piece of flatten bread on flat surface i.e chopping board.
- Scoop one tablespoon of sardine mixture on the bread and roll it tightly.
- Lock the bread end with egg yolk and place it downward on baking tray.
- Before baking, use pastry brush to brush egg yolk on top of the bread.
- Bake it for 30mins.
Kalau goreng celur telur is much easier but I don't want it to be like makanan pasar malam =)
