Strawberry Pavlova

The pavlova is a sweet dessert, it has a meringue crust and a marshmallow centre. Once, a friend of mine told me that only lazy bums will bake a cake based on meringue because it is so easy. Oh yeah? Whatever.

Here is my tried-and-tested Strawberry Pavlova. It is not as pretty as any other pavlova that you'd see if you google-image. LOL! But anyhow, it taste goooood =)



Ingredients:-
4 egg whites (baki telur kuning tu jangan buang, boleh buat telur dadar daaaa...)
1 1/4 cups caster sugar (malas nak beli gula kaster? pi blender gula pasir 1 1/2 cawan ok?)
1 teaspoon vinegar (kalau rumah tak ada cuka, air limau boleh ganti, jangan pakai asam jawa sudah...)
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (jangan lebih-lebih nanti over-power pulak!)
1 tablespoon cornflour (sila berhati-hati, jangan terlebih nanti jadi pavlova jadi tayar basikal!)

Topping:-
Sweetened whipped cream (tak ada ini, pakai whipped cream biasa campur gula pun boleh...)
Strawberries (nak pakai buah-buahan lain imported atau tempatan pun boleh...)

Method:-
  • Preheat oven to 180'C. Nak hangus sila panaskan lebih dari itu. Hahaha!
  • Beat egg whites till stiff. Ala... macam nak buat meringue tu. Memang meringue pun!
  • Gradually add caster sugar while beating. Beat on high speed for ten minutes. 
  • In a small bowl mix cornflour, vanilla essence and vinegar with one tablespoon of egg mixture. 
  • Add to remaining egg mixture. Beat on high speed for four minutes. 
  • Place mixture on a tray which has been covered with waxed paper, spreading mixture to a circle. Sukatilah kau nak buat bulatan tu besar mana but then make sure keliling bulatan lebih tinggi dari yang dalam untuk letak krim dan strawberry di tengah-tengahnya okek?
  • Turn oven down to 100'C. Pace tray in oven. 
  • Bake for one hour. Ingat, sejam jer... Lebih-lebih nanti pavlova boleh jadi tayar hummer.
  • Turn oven off and leave pavlova in oven to cool, bukak sikit pintu oven tu bagi udara panas keluar. 
  • Cover with whipped cream and strawberry. Lebih enak kalau whipped cream ini sejuk tau?!

Tadaaaa!!! Dah siap =)
